NHN JAPAN Corp.

NHN JAPAN Corp. ist ein japanisches Tochterunternehmen des koreanischen Unternehmens NHN Corporation. Die Abkürzung „NHN“ steht für „Next Human Network“.

Das Unternehmen wurde ursprünglich am 1. April 2013 als NHN Japan Corporation gegründet. Im August desselben Jahres fand die Umbenennung in NHN PlayArt Corporation statt. Grund dafür war eine Personalaufteilung des Unternehmens, da die Abteilung Hangame in ein eigenes Unternehmen transferiert wurde. Gleichzeitig wurde das neue Unternehmen NHN Entertainment Corporation gegründet und NHN PlayArt Corporation in ein Tochterunternehmen umgewandelt.

Im Dezember 2013 wurde auch das Unternehmen SAVAWAY zu einem Tochterunternehmen.

Am 12. September 2014 fusionierte das Unternehmen mit Crimson Corporation. Am 30. September 2014 übernahm das Unternehmen zudem DATAHOTEL von LINE Corporation und wandelte es in ein Tochterunternehmen um.

Der Bereich Online-Videospiele wurde Anfang Oktober 2015 in die Tochtergesellschaft NHN PlayArt ausgelagert, der neu gegründete Bereich Mobile Games in NHN Hangame. Um Namensdopplungen zu vermeiden, wurde NHN PlayArt in NHN comico Corp. umbenannt.

Ende November 2015 wurde das Unternehmen Mediator Corporation in die bestehende Firmenstruktur integriert und aufgelöst.

Das Tochterunternehmen NHN PlayArt übernahm im Juli 2016 das Joint-Venture anipani von Animate und wandelte es in eine Marke um.

Am 1. Juni 2017 entschied sich das Unternehmen, den Webtoon-Bereich in ein eigenes Unternehmen auszulagern. Es wurde ein neues Unternehmen NHN comico Corp. gegründet. Um eine Namensdopplung zu vermeiden, änderte das Unternehmen seinen Namen in seinen heutigen Namen, NHN Japan Corp.

Anfang Juni 2019 wurde das Tochterunternehmen NHN Capital aufgelöst und in die bestehende Firmenstruktur integriert. Die Cloud-Dienste „EX-CLOUD“ und „Atserver“ wurden an GMO Cloud verkauft. Ende Juli desselben Jahres wurde das Tochterunternehmen NHN Hangame an Cocone verkauft.

Das Tochterunternehmen NHN SAVAWAY wurde an IID veräußert.

Das Unternehmen LINE Corporation steht derzeit in keiner direkten Relation zu NHN Japan Corp., obwohl der frühere Firmenname von LINE Corporation ebenfalls NHN Japan war.

At the beginning of June 2019, the subsidiary NHN Capital was dissolved and integrated into the existing company structure. The cloud services “EX-CLOUD” and “Atserver” were sold to GMO Cloud. At the end of July of the same year, the subsidiary NHN Hangame was sold to Cocone.

The subsidiary NHN SAVAWAY was sold to IID.

The company LINE Corporation is currently not directly related to NHN Japan Corp., although the former company name of LINE Corporation was also NHN Japan.
