EARTH STAR Entertainment

Earth Star Entertainment ist ein japanisches Verlagshaus, das am 1. Juni 1939 gegründet wurde. Der Hauptsitz befindet sich im Bezirk Shibuya der Stadt Tokio.

Das Unternehmen ist seit Ende 2006 ein Tochterunternehmen der Culture Convenience Club Company, nachdem Top Partners Inc. von Culture Convenience Club Company aufgekauft und in ein Tochterunternehmen umgewandelt wurde.

Das Unternehmen wurde ursprünglich am 5. Juni 2006 als Tochterunternehmen von Top Partners Inc. gegründet. Zu Beginn als Filmproduktionsunternehmen vorgesehen, stieg dieses im September 2008 ins Verlagswesen ein. Ab Mai 2009 betätigte sich das Unternehmen auch als Talentagentur.

Mit »Seiken no Blacksmith« produzierte das Unternehmen im Herbst 2009 seinen ersten Anime. Darauf lancierte das Unternehmen im Dezember 2010 das Manga-Label Earth Star Comics. Das erste regelmäßige Manga-Magazin wurde das Monthly Comic Earth Star, das ab März 2011 jeden Monat erschien. Zudem stieg das Unternehmen im Februar 2013 mit dem Song »girl meet DEADLINE« zum Anime »Mangirl!« auch in den Musikvertrieb ein. Die ersten Light Novels folgten mit dem im Dezember 2014 lancierten Label Earth Star Novel.

Im Juli 2016 wurde der größte Teil des Anime-Geschäftszweigs an das Label SMIRAL des Schwesterunternehmens Top Marshal transferiert, das dafür neu gegründet wurde. Earth Star Entertainment betätigte sich danach nur noch bei kleineren Aufgaben an Animeproduktionen. Das Geschäft als Talentagentur wurde Ende März 2018 aufgegeben.

Am 3. April 2018 wurden alle Anteile von Taibundo Publishing übernommen und in ein Tochterunternehmen umgewandelt. Am 15. Mai desselben Jahres wurde Earth Star Entertainment komplett in die bestehende Firmenstruktur integriert und anschließend aufgelöst. Danach wurde Taibundo Publishing in Earth Star Entertainment umbenannt.

Earth Star Entertainment is a Japanese publishing company founded on the 1st June 1939. Its headquarters are located in the Shibuya district of the city of Tokyo.

The company has been a subsidiary of Culture Convenience Club Company since late 2006, after Top Partners Inc. was purchased by Culture Convenience Club Company and converted into a subsidiary.

The company was originally established on the 5th June 2006 as a subsidiary of Top Partners Inc. Initially intended as a film production company, it moved into publishing in September 2008. From May 2009, the company also operated as a talent agency.

The company produced its first anime, “The Sacred Blacksmith”, in autumn 2009. Following this, the company launched the manga label Earth Star Comics in December 2010. The first regular manga magazine became Monthly Comic Earth Star, which appeared every month from March 2011. On top of that, the company entered the music distribution business in February 2013 with the song “girl meet DEADLINE” for the anime “Mangirl!”. The first light novels followed with the Earth Star Novel label launched in December 2014.

In July 2016, most of the anime business was transferred to the SMIRAL label of the sister company Top Marshal, which was newly founded for this purpose. After that, Earth Star Entertainment was only active in smaller tasks on anime productions. The business as a talent agency was discontinued at the end of March 2018.

On the 3rd April 2018, all shares of Taibundo Publishing were acquired and converted into a subsidiary. On the 15th May of the same year, Earth Star Entertainment was fully integrated into the existing corporate structure and subsequently dissolved. Taibundo Publishing was subsequently renamed Earth Star Entertainment.
