Does that mean … things have been nothing but awful for me since the moment I was born?

Dattara watashi wa … umareta toki kara saiyaku tte wake … ? (だったら私は …　生まれた時から最悪ってワケ… ?)

There are only two ways you can live. Live beautifully. Or live for somebody beautiful …

We fear what is different. Short, tall. Man, woman. Old, young. We fear each other because we’re different. So if we become the same, there’s nothing to fear. Murderers, monsters … ghouls … if you become what you fear, you will have no fear.

Kowai to kanjiru no wa “chigau” kara da. Chibi to dekai no ga, otoko to onna ga, toshiyori to wakamono ga, otagai osoreau no wa jibun to chigau kara. Dakara onaji ni nareba kowakunai. Hitogoroshi, bakemono, … Guuru. Omae ga kowai to kanjiru sore ni nareba, kyoufu wa nakunaru. (怖いと感じるのは「違う」からだ。チビとデカいのが、男と女が、年寄りと若者が、お互い恐れ合うのは自分と違うから。だから同じになれば怖くない。人殺し、ばけもの、 … 喰種　お前が怖いと感じるそれになれば、恐怖はなくなる)

As it always has, the world loves people. But not us ghouls. No matter what, we could never be warm. Frigid emptiness lies in wait. That’s why we’re always being wounded and wounded without even shedding blood. We don’t feel warmth at all.

Yappari sekai wa “hito” wo aishiteru … Watashitachi “guuru” ja nakute. Donna ni shitemo nukumaranai, tsumetai kuukyo ga yokotawaru. We’re meant to live with the losses.

Bokutachi wa ushinainagara ikiru shika nainda. (俺たちは失いながら生きるしかないんだ)

If I told you I just wanted to live a normal life, you’d laugh, wouldn’t you?

“Futsuu ni ikitakatta” nante ittara, waraimasu yo ne (「普通に生きたかった」なんて言ったら　嗤いますよねえ)

You don’t even have to be afraid of ghouls. Those who win battles are those who have tamed their weaknesses.

“Guuru” datte kowagaru koto wa arimasu. Tatakai de katsu no ha yowasa wo kainarashita hou desu. (”喰種”だって怖がることはあります　戦いで勝つのは弱さを飼い慣らした方です)
