J-Novel Club LLC

J-Novel Club LLC ist ein amerikanisches Verlagshaus, das sich darauf spezialisiert hat, vor allem japanische Light Novels auf Englisch zu veröffentlichen – primär digital über bekannte Plattformen wie Amazon Kindle. Gegründet wurde das Unternehmen im Jahr 2016 und hat seinen Sitz in San Antonio im Bundesstaat Texas.

Mitte Januar 2017 ging J-Novel Club eine Partnerschaft mit dem auf Light Novel spezialisierten Verlag Seven Seas Entertainment ein. So wurden darüber einige bisher nur digital erwerbbare Light Novels wie »Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash« auch als Buch veröffentlicht.

Im November 2019 lancierte der Verlag den neuen Imprint J-Novel Heart, mit dem er vor allem Shoujo-Titel veröffentlicht. Anfang April 2021 folgt der Imprint J-Novel Pulp. Unter diesem neuen Imprint veröffentlicht der Verlag vor allem deutsche Titel auf Englisch. Dazu gehören z. B. Roman-Reihen über die fiktiven Figuren Perry Rhodan und Geisterjäger John Sinclair.

Das Unternehmen wurde am 28. April 2021 durch die japanische Kadokawa-Gruppe aufgekauft und in ein Tochterunternehmen umgewandelt.

Im Jahr 2022 kündigte das Unternehmen eine neue Partnerschaft an. Statt wie bisher durch Seven Seas Entertainment sollen einige neue Titel über das amerikanische Joint-Venture Yen Press veröffentlicht werden. So gehört »The Misfit of Demon King Academy« zu den ersten Titeln, die Yen Press als physischen Band herausbringt. Ebenso kündigte der Verlag an, in Zusammenarbeit mit RBMedia auch einige Light Novels als Hörbücher zu veröffentlichen.

Am 12. Juni 2023 wurde für den deutschen und französischen Markt das Tochterunternehmen JNC Nina GmbH gegründet. Seit dem 15. Oktober 2023 können über die Website Novels online gelesen werden. Print-Versionen sind in Kooperation mit anderen Verlagen geplant.
